How long does it take for money to reach my bank account after I withdraw it from Stash?
Your money is removed immediately from a Stash account when transferred from Stash to an external bank account. However, it may take funds up to 5 business days to appear in that external account. The exact length of time depends on how quickly your bank processes ACH transfers.
Want your money faster?
- Transfers within Stash between your Stash personal portfolio and Stash banking account are almost instant¹, so you can get quicker access to your money if you move it to your Stash banking account instead of your external bank account.
- If you’ve selected to transfer to your debit card, the money should be available in minutes.
Transfers only happen on business days
All transfers are processed on business days during banking hours. Business days are Monday through Friday, and do not include weekends or US bank holidays. Weekends and bank holidays may delay this process. If you make a request to transfer money on a weekend or holiday, please allow extra time.
How will I know if the money is on its way?
You can check the status of your transfers on Stash, either in the app or the web in the Activity feed.

- If the activity status in account details shows that the transfer is complete, this means that Stash has processed the transaction.
- If the activity status shows that the transfer is pending, you might want to verify that your external bank is linked correctly.
To verify external bank information, follow the steps below, then check your external bank’s app or website to confirm when the money has been received:
